Difference between emergency care and primary care

Primary care

Primary care physicians and mid-level providers can treat the symptoms you are experiencing now, as well as monitor chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, to help you live life fully.

Emergency care

Is the place to turn for medical situations that need immediate attention and/or life-threatening. Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room treats acute injuries and ailments, such as broken bones and, for those unexpected conditions that can't wait until Monday. The Emergency Room is open 24 hours a day – seven days a week and no appointment is necessary.
