Home Health
The Home Health Department is located at Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital. Home Health provides skilled nursing, certified nurse's aide, occupational therapy, speech language pathologist, and physical therapy. Insurance coverage is assessed on an individual basis. All patient care is coordinated and supervised by a registered nurse and is provided in the comfort of the patient's home.

Home Health Services Include:

Skilled Nursing (RN) Performs technical procedures, assessments, observation and instruction.

Physical Therapy (PT) assist in motion restoration through a variety of exercises and therapies. Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA's) are also utilized.

Occupational Therapy (OT) The goal of occupational therapy is to help you do what you need to do in everyday life. Occupational therapy practitioners are skilled health care professionals who use research and scientific evidence to ensure that their interventions are effective. With strong knowledge of a person's psychological, emotional, cognitive and social makeup, Occupational Therapy practitioners can evaluate how your condition (or risk of one) is affecting your ability to participate in life and provide ways to overcome any barriers, using a holistic perspective.

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Speech Language Pathologists or Speech therapists provide evaluation and treatment of patients with speech disorders caused by stroke, progressive neurological disorders, head injury, delays in speech and language in children and developmental disorders including:

Aphasia

Apraxia of speech

Articulation problems

Dysarthria· Stuttering

Memory/cognitive communication disorders
When a physician refers a patient to our speech therapist, a one-on-one evaluation is conducted with a thorough treatment plan.

Certified Nursing Assistant assist patients with personal care.

Pre and Post-Operative Care

Health Education

Chronic Disease Management

Medication Instruction

Injections

Catheter Care: PICC, Ports, Urinary foley's

Tube feeding management
