Whenever possible, Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital supports area organizations and schools. We support organizations and schools through fiscal sponsorship, partnership and community involvement.

Teddy Bear Clinics

Area Kindergarten classes from 7 different schools will be coming to KCCMH in mid to late April 2019. Each kindergartner will receive their very own teddy bear, a coloring book with crayons and a little bag to put all of their goodies inside. They are given tours throughout the various departments in the hospital such as the Imaging department, the lab, emergency room, etc. They’ll learn the importance of hand-washing and while their teddy bear is being examined, the students learn about the different equipment in a doctor’s office. The purpose of this clinic is to learn what it is like to come to the hospital and how nice we are so they won’t need to be afraid to come here. We are looking forward to seeing each of their smiling faces.

Bike Rodeos & Bike Helmets for First Grade Students

KCCMH collaborates with the Burlington Police Department and Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Office to hold Bike Rodeos for area schools. KCCMH also provides all first graders in the county with a bike helmet promoting bike safety.

Celebration of Summer, Concert Series and Boots, Bulls & Bands Event Sponsor

KCCMH supports the Burlington Chamber of Commerce in bringing these great summer events to our community.

KCCMH Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Held during the month of October, KCCMH partners with our local businesses and communities to raise awareness and funds to support ALL types of cancer.

Food Drive

KCCMH employees participate in a food drive to support our local Prairie Family Center Food Bank.

Old Town Winter Wonderland, Christmas Tree Stroll and The Giving Tree

KCCMH participates in these wonderful holiday festivities at Old Town, horse drawn wagon rides and a fundraiser for the Prairie Family Center Toys & Joys program. Towards the end of November, there will be an opportunity to help us collect brand new toys to be donated to Prairie Family Center (our local food bank and family resource center) for their Toys & Joys fundraising program through the Giving Tree that will be set up in our lobby.
